The city

Munich is the country head of the Free State of Bavaria, for years the population has hesitated between 1.2 and 1.3 millions for Munich. It is the third largest town of Germany behind Berlin and Hamburg and in front of Cologne, and popular to this with that as surveys taking place regularly shall cover.

It is a beautiful old city is a media, arts and cultural metropolis, the capital of Bavaria, home of Princes and Kings for centuries and, to top it all, Germany's economic center for technology. The so called 'Silicon Valley' of Europe! Munich has something on offer for everyone: plenty of culture, Bavarian hospitality, endless shopping opportunities, a great emphasis on leisure, an exciting night life, a variety of restaurants, calming natural surroundings, interesting architecture and much more. The Octoberfest, which takes place every year in autumn, is the largest folk festival in the world. As a result of the stabile job market and the emphasis on leisure Munich has become one of the most popular cities in Germany.

There actually are a couple of good reasons to appreciate Munich. It be be comfortable urban features, its infrastructure, its culture offer, its economic situation, the high safety or also the proximity to seas and mountains.

Some sights

Marienplatz

A whole handful sights: the old and the new city hall, principal also confessed by champion celebrations of the FC Bayerns taking place every year and at the same time the carillon, this H lets the tourists at 12 pause for a couple of minutes daily.
Around the corner at Marienplatz you can find the Altes Rathaus and Neues Rathaus (old and new town halls). The first now houses a small but cute toy museum with a focus on teddy bears. A rickety lift takes you between the 4 floors housing the exhibits, and the elevated ground floor has a ticket office cum small shop.

Ludwigstraße/Leopoldstraße

Munich's boulevard number 1 from the Odeon place up to the Munich liberty. These are on king Ludwigs I. built street beginning the residence, then the wonderful Hofgarten with the giant of the state chancellery the winning goal the old university in honor - the same a collection of interesting buildings, at this one. This one can excellently be decided on for numerous restaurants between U station Giselastraße and Munich liberty an evening walk in one.

Olympiapark

The spectacular roof constructions, the parts of the Olympic stadium are not still and-one of the emblems of Munich today Olympiaturm which houses a usable observation platform and a wickedly expensive revolving restaurant today echo you build, to forget the over a long distance visible. The complete area was set up on the occasion of the Olympic summer Games 1972 on the rubble tips of the 2nd World War and sight is today and thanks to the spacious park's recreation area at the same time.

Maximilianstraße

Below the extremely remarkable Bavarian Landtag (Maximilianeum) Munich's noble mile extends over the Isar where a luxury tailor follows after the next one all of you know and hate one, Rudolph Moshammer, of this. The Maxstraße is for certain the best option to watch the famous notorious inhabitant of Munich elegantly. The inhabitant of Munich to himself holds on for something special -- here it exhibits the top layer.

Nymph castle

One must this castle plant is in the west of the town on every town inspection, early the country seat of the Bavarian royal family, today one the most popular walks at all: a wide-branched park area follows behind the Hauptschloss reminding of Versailles with innumerable fountains, flowerbeds, paths, meadows and as well as two little castles which would already alone for themselves be remarkable. The botanic garden which is worth a visit, too adjacently to the castle grounds is by the way.

Frauenkirche

Munich's skyline is dominated by the twin-towered, onion-topped, Frauenkirche, and this Cathedral's predominance seems assured, thanks to recent state legislation that regulates & restricts the height of all surrounding buildings. The Frauenkirche is a beautifully conceived structure, boasting a Gothic nave that dates back to the 15th Century.

Beer gardens

One of Munich's greatest attractions is the Englischer Garten, a wonderfully extensive, all-round open space near the cities centre. This was the first public garden to be established in Europe.
The Gardens extend along the River Isar over several kilometres, and incorporate a number of huge lawns, a decorative Japanese Tea-House, several lakes, and quite a few Beer gardens, one of which is located in the well-known Chinesischer Turm, an ersatz Chinese-Pagoda with literally thousands of seats spread out around it in the summer.
In winter, skating is popular on the garden's frozen lakes, and in summer, nudist sunbathing is rife.

Oktoberfest

Munich´s Oktoberfest is a beer festival – it´s the largest festival worldwide. Apart from beer tents the festival offers amusements as diverse as roller coasters, circus appearances, festival parades and live brass bands.
